Your information
Privacy policy
Banana is built by SynQuara Digital. This policy explains what information the workspace uses, where it goes when you ask Banana to do something, and the choices available in the app.

Information you provide
When you create an account, Banana receives your email address and any display name you enter. The authentication service handles your password and sign-in tokens; Banana does not display your password to other users. Your workspace can contain prompts, conversations, quiz answers, project briefs, uploaded files, generated media, saved documents, and preferences. Some material may contain personal information if you choose to include it.
When you use image, video, file, voice, or visual analysis tools, the relevant prompt or media is processed to complete that request. If you use a web search feature, the search query and returned source information are processed to answer you. The browser may also provide ordinary connection information, such as an IP address and device information, to the hosting and security services needed to deliver Banana.
How Banana uses and stores it
We use account information to sign you in, keep your workspace associated with your account, and send confirmation, magic link, or password recovery emails you request. Prompts and attached content are used to produce the output you ask for. The workspace stores private chats and project data in your account database, saved media in account storage, and a recovery copy in your browser. Shared chat copies and collaborator access records are stored separately so invited accounts can work in the same conversation. Local and session storage also hold preferences and drafts; IndexedDB can hold media blobs for browser recovery.
If you enable Remember useful facts across chats, Banana may select relevant statements from your other chats on this browser and include them in a later AI request. You can turn that setting off. The Stream responses setting only changes whether you see partial text or the final answer; both modes send the request to the same chat service.
Providers and disclosure
Banana relies on hosted services for account authentication, workspace storage, shared chat storage, site delivery, connected AI models, and current web search. The information needed for a request may be sent to those services. For example, an AI provider can receive the text or media included in a prompt, and a search provider can receive the query. When you create a shared chat, its text, quiz results, and source links become visible to accounts that join through your invite. People in that chat can see the email address attached to each participant's messages, and the owner can see collaborators' email addresses to manage access. Uploaded media stays in your private library. The chat owner can remove a collaborator, which ends their future access to the shared chat. Optional first-party analytics requires consent. We do not set advertising cookies. We do not sell your workspace content through an advertising feature.
Provider infrastructure may process information outside your country. We cannot identify every processing location from the app interface, and provider locations can change. Avoid putting secrets, financial details, or other sensitive information into a prompt unless you are comfortable with this processing. Outside links you open have their own privacy practices.
Your controls and retention
Conversation review: new chat, shared-chat, quiz, visual-analysis, image, and Annex requests create a separate administrator-only text log in Upstash Redis. It includes the account ID and email when available, conversation ID, prompt, response text, model, completion status, and time. The operator uses this content to review quality and investigate errors. This is identifiable message content, not anonymous analytics, and is separate from optional cookie consent. Do not submit passwords or other secrets.
Each review record expires automatically seven days after the request started, even if it is updated later. Images and audio are not copied into this log. Text is limited to 40,000 characters for the prompt and 64,000 for the response. Failed or interrupted requests may have no completed answer; a storage outage can leave a gap. Past conversations are not imported. Deleting a chat does not immediately delete its separate review record; it still expires within seven days. Contact us for an earlier privacy deletion request.
The seven-day review timer does not delete your saved workspace, shared conversation, downloads, provider logs, or backups. Your saved messages remain available until you delete them. For AI context, Banana selects recent messages and compact extracts from up to the latest 300 user turns instead of sending the entire transcript. Extractive memory is incomplete and may omit details. Optional cross-chat memory is controlled separately in Settings.
Optional first-party analytics counts visits to general page categories only after consent. It does not include message content, emails, account IDs, or full URLs. Random cookie and deduplication identifiers last seven days; aggregate daily totals last no more than eight days. You can withdraw consent in Cookie settings. No advertising or cross-site tracking cookies are used.
Annex stores coding projects under your account in Banana’s hosted data store. Starting its terminal sends your project files to an isolated Vercel Sandbox. Sessions stop automatically after fifteen minutes; save files created by terminal commands before stopping. GitHub sync and Vercel deployment send the files you choose to those services under your authorization. Connection tokens entered in Annex remain in the current tab’s memory and are not saved with projects. Closing the tab clears those fields. Published deployments and committed repositories follow the visibility and retention settings of your connected accounts.
Microphone recording starts only when you select voice input or start a voice conversation. Recordings are sent to the connected transcription provider to produce text. Read-aloud text may be sent to the speech provider; device voices are used when needed. Banana does not save microphone audio as a library item automatically. Transcript messages and responses are saved like other chat messages. Search results are cached temporarily, with shorter expiry for weather, news, and other changing information, and no longer than one day for stable searches.
You can change your display name, delete individual chats and library items, sign out, and export chats from the workspace. Unsent text and file studio drafts are saved in your browser so you can return to them. Clearing site data in your browser removes local recovery copies and preferences, but it does not by itself delete the synced account copy. Deleting a workspace item in Banana updates the synced workspace; downloaded copies you made remain under your control.
We keep account data while it is needed to operate your workspace, unless you delete an item or an account deletion request is handled. Some service providers may keep limited logs or backups for security and reliability. For access, correction, account deletion, or a privacy concern, email synquara@techie.com and describe the account email involved. We will review the request and respond through that address. Do not send passwords or reset links.
Security, children, and updates
Banana uses account based access controls for synced workspace data and secure authentication links for account actions. A private conversation ID in a URL helps you return to a chat, but possession of that ID alone does not grant access to someone else's account. No online service or browser storage is risk free, so use a trusted device and sign out on shared computers.
Banana is not designed for children to use without an appropriate adult's supervision. We may update this policy as tools or providers change and will change the date above when we publish a revision. The Cookie details page explains the current first party cookies and how browser storage differs from them.
